I really want to completely clear this game but there's a problem: the First steps trophy, which is awarded by obtaining a bronze cup in a challenge.

You are awarded a cup based on the percentile you stand against other players. You are given a day or week to improve your standing for each challenge.

I just can't do it! First of all, I normally achieve silver on my first attempt but after that, I keep wanting to improve my results and usually end up with gold!

I'd have to purposely fail at the right spot and resist the temptation to revisit! Why can't it be retroactively awarded as is usually the case when clearing a game on a harder difficulty?!

Working on Sly1 now instead...
