Probably doesn't matter as long as one is on the board so your mobo doesn't complain. You could probably connect two to your mobo if you have a chassis fan header too that way your mobo can monitor the rpm of both fans. tbh I'm not sure two fans would be quieter than one, you could achieve the same airflow by reducing the rpm if you have a fan speed adapter, but it's still 2x whatever noise they make.
