I remember the existence of Journey but thought little of them over the years until the hubbub over the Sopranos finale several years ago. I never knew the names of any of the band members.

I am surprised to read that Journey originated in San Francisco. I would have thought New Jersey (or some New York city suburb), and not because of The Sopranos. It's possible I vaguely cross-associate Journey with Bon Jovi (not sure what they have in common other than being 'arena rock' bands first gaining public prominence in the early 'Eighties).
