@avadiax@identi.ca read the article twice.. I see nothing about secure end-to-end free software chat systems being broken. It mainly talks about a lot of the Security Snake oil companies like KIK, SureSpot, etc that mainly rely on TLS/SSL and call that encryption. This doesn't effect OTR, XMPP, GPG, ZRTP, nor my Mumble server.

All this article says to me is the same thing I've been saying to people for years. All of the popular and populous chat systems are basically selling security theatre. Get the hell off of them and on to something like XMPP+OTR/PGP, Mumble, SSIP/SRTP/ZRTP. If you don't hold the private keys it isn't secure.
