Refurbing a computer today.. first one in a while.. Boot it up to check the specs.. It might as well be a Raspberry Pi B+. Seems almost silly to refurb. it but it'll make some kid a good first computer. Plus it keep crap outta the landfill a few more years, Introduces some kid to Linux/Free Software, etc. So Still a win.. But it is rather big, noisy, and power hungry compared to a Pi.

I am writing this using a turn of the century Thinkpad 600E. It is sometimes a good exercise to refurbish good hardware.
I've found that a few years ago you could refurb a computer and say "good enough for browsing" but now if you refurb a computer it's good enough for everything *except* browsing.
