Jan, AndStatus: I believe AndStatus re-sends if it doesn't receive a confirmation within a certain time period. Maybe some other clients fire-and-forget or use a longer time-out period instead?
Greg: I saw the multiple comments, immediately knew what happened. It wasn't botheracious yet.

But a working Pump.io server replies with HTTP 200 in a matter of seconds.
I understand that AndStatus wants to retry until it gets some sort of response, but in this particular case, those ~15 cloned comments happened while the server was working perfectly fine.
