Very true. In this case, "for killing 3 children" could mean, as you said, very different things.


It's not the same, at all, a killer who murdered 3 children on cold blood, with a knife, and a driver who run over 3 children because he/she was distracted, feeling dizzy, or whatever. It's very different, yet both things end in "for killing 3 children".
