stereo!

joeyh at

Dusted off my old netbook, put on the inverter in the front room, and hooked up some not too bad external speakers, and am blasting some tunes through the house while git-annex pulls everything into my new stereo.

This is exciting! It been a long time since I had a remote mpd stereo that sounded good. (And loud.)

Gave that up when I moved to untra-low-power solar land 3 years ago. So I mostly listen to music in the background in the car. (Not counting sessions with headphones, when I really want to spend some time engaging with some music in foreground.)

There's no way this setup will fly in the dark winter depths, but I should be able to enjoy it all summer! At least on Friday nights..

I hope this means more mpd hacks coming our way :)

Do you stream libre.fm? I was attempting to do so using mpd, but the whole "playlist_plugin" of "lastfm" doesn't seem to work with the 0.18.9-1 in debian testing/unstable.

If you're just scrobbling your listens, then it doesn't apply. I was just curious how other mpd/librefm users were doing things.
