Brazil

Very interesting reading to me. I have been trying to keep up with increasingly dire developments in Brazil, but had missed what happened after the president was impeached. Including the elimination of Brazil's ministry of culture, the protests over that, and its reinstatement.

That same ministry of culture brought me down there once, I had a trip through Brazilia's crazy architecture to the coast, and hung out with a lot of activists and farmers and craftspeople and educators and libre software fans and musicians, including a guy who I later learned was a designated national treasure. And I have seen pretty much the full scope of Brazil, from reasonably well off to the crushing poverty.

It's the country I most wish manages to reach its potential. Which is enormous.
