Weird that it's not prominently shown at least on the about page. Or on the other hand, maybe not. One of the commentaries (gawker or gizmodo or whatever) on the new and slick web site is that it's great that it's not saying "501(c)(3)" anywhere on the page.
That seems like a weird thing to appreciate: "not one of those darn 501(c)(3) messages".
I can understand it. Many people think nonprofit=low quality, addled, uncompetitive. Not proclaiming nonprofit status would signal to such a person that archive.org thinks it is ready to be held to higher standards.
