I've been trying to learn to love Gnome3, and it is much better now than it was, but there's just too much hidden for my liking so am giving XFCE (yet) another try. One thing I can't work out though, is how to get padding in the panel so it doesn't keep jumping around as I open and close windows.
A-ha! 4.10 has taken the padding out of the window buttons panel widget, but you can set a separator as 'invisible' and 'expand', which achieves the same goal when place after the window buttons. Achievement unlocked!
