I always knew when my work switched to Google docs that it would be trouble. The word processing app gives you so little control over the display of your document that it's painful to work with. It's incredible how much we are prepared to give up (functionality) and give away (security and freedom) in the name of 'convenience'.

Not me.  :)

Libre Office is pretty good now.  One of these day I want to get to learn LaTex.  (I do my best not to encourage google.)

Making one's company depend on external services like that, seems ridiculous to me. Specially because there's absolutely no reason to do it.

It also matters what they switched from. The 2013 version of MSOffice also tries to push (Microsoft's) web-based office applications on users along with a productivity-sapping "ribbon" interface.
