My gmail chat contacts are suddenly all unavailable. Did Google kill XMPP federation in 2014?
Working again. A wake-up call anyway, I should convince my friends to migrate to Jabber instead of using Google Talk.

You should. As of right now, you're not able to talk to people who """upgraded""" Google Talk to Hangouts.
