Remembering Vernon Adams

I met Vernon just when I was getting interested in fonts and type, and his encouragement had a big influence -- bigger than he knew, no doubt.
He'll be missed, but the free-software fonts that he released are (still) among the most popular on the web and in print and advertising, so he will continue to make a positive impact on a great many people, even if only a few of them ever dig around enough to find his name.
