Looks wrong visually but works mentally every other way. The reverse would be hard to remember. How many levels supported?
I tremendously enjoy Adam Hyde's critique that markdown is just shitty markup ... ah you've read that :) https://lwn.net/Articles/614144/ but I have to admit to being comfortable using it and not sure what revolution looks like.
