So, to summarize, most of TriggerTrap's "mistakes" were the fact that they promised a product none of them had any skills to make, so they subcontracted every single aspect of the project, from case design to electronics to software to construction, and lo and behold, the costs were enormous.

All of which is why I haven't gone into business selling consumer electronics, even though I have lots of ideas for amazing products I'm sure everyone would buy.
So, they didn't name the big company that made them change the name of the product, but they did name the software development firm that they claim made the product late. With some shame-code thrown in!

That's called punching down and it is Not Cool.

Yeah, it's not an impressive tale on any level.

The whole read (including the sequel where they axe the entire Ada project: https://medium.com/@Haje/how-a-half-million-dollar-kickstarter-project-can-crash-and-burn-5482d7d33ee1 ) definitely raises the stature of the Photoduino camera trigger in comparison.

On further reflection, I really feel like the only reason they didn't name the camera corp was that they were afraid of them. I mean, they do take great pains to make it crystal clear to readers that it was RED. Presumably people who remember the original "Ada" launch would already be aware of that, too.

Whether that means they're actually afraid they'll get sued or they're afraid they'll lose potential sales to RED owners/renters is another question.

And it doesn't mean they weren't being jerks to their subcontractors, either. I just think it's a different spot on the
Malice |--------------------| Stupidity
spectrum.
