My local Tory (Conservative Party) MP's election flyer has a picture of them raising awareness for a local food bank.
Given that their Tory Government has slashed benefits, capped public sector pay rises, and stunted the economy with austerity, forcing many (including those in work) to rely on food banks, I'm not sure if they're attempting irony or being hypocritical.

The picture of them with the Prime Minister Theresa May is hilarious though, the PM looks like a celebrity at a public event where fans can get their photo taken with them; I can imagine the restrictions:
  • Do not touch Theresa May
  • Do not approach within 50cm of Theresa May
  • If Theresa May says "Strong and stable", "In the National Interest", "Coalition of Chaos", "no magic money tree", nod sagely in agreement
  • Laugh only when Theresa May laughs
  • Do not react if Theresa May's fangs are visible when her mouth is open
  • Do not, under any circumstance, ask, or allow someone else to ask, Theresa May a question
  • Actually, just do not talk to Theresa May
Can you tell I don't like the Tories or Theresa May?
