研究機構蒐集產出的資料，如何能被持續保存、共通使用？資料可否講究「公道」(FAIR)？10 月 27 日週五早上 10:30 在中研院資訊所新館 106 演講廳， Simon Hodson 博士將說明何謂「公道」資料（FAIR -- Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Re-usable)、資料政策的新近發展、以及研究機構在資料生態圈中應有的角色與責任。

Simon Hodson 博士是 CODATA 的執行長。CODATA (International Council for Science: Committee on Data for Science and Technology) 是 ICSU (The International Council for Science)之下的組織，專注科學與技術資料在取得使用上的全球合作。ICSU 正於台北舉行會員大會，故藉此機會邀請 Hodson 博士到中研院分享這分面的發展與趨勢。

FAIR data and the roles and responsibilities of research institutions

Abstract:
FAIR data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Re-usable. In this seminar, we will consider the recent policy alignment around FAIR data augmented with the principle that data should be as open as possible, while as closed as necessary. We will also discuss the data ecosystem and the roles and responsibilities of research institutions in supporting the research data lifecycle.

Bio:
Dr. Simon Hodson is the Executive Director of CODATA (International Council for Science: Committee on Data for Science and Technology).

Dr. Hodson is an expert on data policy issues and research data management. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Dryad Data Repository, a not-for-profit initiative to make the data underlying scientific publications discoverable, freely reusable, and citable. He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of CESSDA ERIC, the European data infrastructure for the social sciences.
