Pump.io lists?

Timo Kankare at

What are lists in pump.io? I guess they are not !groups (like in statusnet). Is there somewhere description about them? How to use them and what purpose? Are they public or can they be private?

My understanding is that they are your personal lists for grouping people you follow, like "relatives", "work colleagues", etc. But I could be wrong... :-)

Tsyesika@io.theperplexingpariah.co.uk likes this.

Say you create a "Family" list, then add your parents, siblings and some cousins to it.

Then, when posting, you can post to "Family" instead of "Followers" or "Public", and have the message addressed to them only.

It's almost the same as adding all of them manually to the "To" list when posting, but a lot faster.

And yes, they are public, and, AFAIK, can't be private ATM.

Thanks for answers. It thought they might be something like that. Good to know. Maybe I will find use for them someday.
