I think the reason this scripts repo was never converted to git was that bzr was able to be truely "peer-to-peer" in way that is impossible (afaik) in git.

Things may have changed, but last time I checked, git can't push a branch where the remote already has a working copy of that branch (it'll error). Probably the only thing I miss about bzr.
