Special Counsel Mueller is really dragging his feet. The lawyers in the Chief Counsel's division at IRS metaphorically operate like maniacs hopped up on amphetamines compared to the Special Counsel's unit.

I suspect rather that Mueller has just run into so many leads that he's having to re-triage every day :-).  It's hard to say whether a prosecutor is dragging his feet or not until you know everything he's sifted through and what charges he's bringing.

AJ Jordan likes this.

The problem with that is that there is supposed to be some notion of what the crime is first that the special prosecutor is pursuing. We've never been told as a nation what exactly was violated in Title 18 of the United States Code which lists the various federal crimes. Manafort got picked off for unrelated tax charges and the others got hit with violating 18 USC 1001 which relates to lying to federal officials.

After all this time, what specific crime is the Special Counsel pursuing as specified in Title 18? He's never said. Nobody has ever said. If we launched someone on a roving expedition without any idea of what was going to be prosecuted in the end, people from my agency would be fired followed by losing their pensions and then probably jailed at Florence ADX.
