This from here makes sense:

Trump, who has never done much forward thinking, doesn't seem to realize he will need a GOP Congress to get anything done, should he pull of a miracle, and actually win next month.

Dan Foster of National Review spells it out:

You unfathomable jackals understand that if Trump brings down congressional Rs all your arguments about courts and walls are moot right?

“People aren't giving up on politics because someone else believes the administration has failed to achieve almost all of its stated objectives. People are giving up on politics because they've been led to believe they have to vote for "the lesser evil" extremists from the twin parties instead of finding a 3rd party candidate that is more likely to represent their interests.”

Informal discussions at work today that just skirted the line on the Hatch Act came down to characterizing Mrs. Clinton as a criminal and Mr. Trump as a cartoon character akin to a Yosemite Sam overdosing on PCP/Angel Dust. What offends us at work is we know there is no valid reason Mrs. Clinton is a free person today as any of us who did exactly what she did would be imprisoned after an extremely brief and almost perfunctory trial with stiffer mandatory minimum sentences than were possible for her. Mr. Trump wouldn't pass a Public Trust security investigation at this point which is one of the lowest possible for a civil servant to face.

Helping the situation is somewhat barred in my respect unless I give up my job and quite a bit more. Of course, that depends upon how one defines "helping".

We've improved on climate.

We have? (I'm using "We" here as a citizen of Earth.)

Gay marriage is legal.

Obama drove that?

FISA, the FISA Court, and the NSA aren't the bogeymen the average American should be worrying about but rather other federal agencies sitting on big databases that haven't started using them to learn more about citizens.

On the other hand, Obama didn't do a thing about that type of administrative overreach either. And neither will Clinton or Trump.

I might disagree. We should be clear about how good or bad the current situation is so that we can set realistic goals. False praise is destructive in the medium and long run. Talking about a bad situation bluntly can be depressing, if you aren't used to it, but better that than an ostrich. :-)
