I think I need to update my podcatcher software. My current software solution is:
  1. Notice that I have listened to all the podcasts on my mp3 player.
  2. Plug mp3 player into my computer and do an rm * in the Podcast directory of the player.
  3. Start a wget -c command in the same directory.
  4. Try to remember all the podcasts I follow.
  5. Visit each podcast website in turn, figure out which is the latest episode, then find their RSS feed, view it in the browser, and copy and paste all the new mp3 URLs to the wget command.
  6. Hit return on the wget command.
There is probably a better way... :-/

I've been planning for quite some time to refresh my podcast downloading by using the podcatcher support in git-annex: https://git-annex.branchable.com/tips/downloading_podcasts/

The main reason why I haven't done it yet is that I end up not listening to them and I already have quite some backlog, but some day I will just delete the old stuff and start from scratch.

I've been very happy with AntennaPod on Android.  I can't imagine having to sync podcasts manually like in the old days.

same here. I've stuck with antennapod because...well I stopped trying things and it works pretty well. :)
