Good post, Chris! The way in which Microsoft took code of the lax/permissively-licensed Atom editor and turned it into the proprietary spyware* of Visual Studio Code made me more keenly aware of the the potential downsides of using non-copyleft license.
*This isn't hyperbole. The license terms for Visual Studio Code gives MS permission to send usage data back to Microsoft, and forbids you from blocking transmission of that usage data.
