Person A writes a note on pump.
Person B shares it.

Person C follows Person B but not Person A.

Person C replies to the original comment by Person A.

Person B can't see it?

WTF.

Pete Daniels shared this.

I'm afraid listing the issues is all that I can do about this, even I don't understand very well where is the problem, I just can confirm that "non public" + shares + replies don't mix well in pump.io right now...

Yeah, I know. It's actually a bit of a difficult problem. My expected solution is to have A automatically "share" those replies to all their followers.

jrobb, Pete Daniels, Matt Molyneaux likes this.

It really is difficult. I don't think any #federated #socnet has completely solved it.

It's actually simpler than that. No need to share anything.

Person A posts something only to "Followers". Person B, C, D, and E follow A.

Usually: B will only see comments posted by A and B. C will only see comments posted by A and C. D will only see comments posted by A and D. Etc.

But well, Laura already linked the bugreports, so, as you see, it's known.

Oh, and as Laura said, this can be avoided by posting to Public instead.

Patience, and best of luck to Evan (and whoever can help him) fixing this =)
