outernet

Reverse engineering outernet makes reversing an unknown RF signal look almost easy.
Bonus: GPL violation in the proprietary software that now has a free alternative.
Outernet is beaming selected web pages from satellite to the public at low bit rates. Kind of weird that this is presented as something new; Usenet was available similarly in 1985. In both cases, it's some curated subset of the network, which just seems to miss the point.
Baobaxia is a more egalitarian approach to bringing computer networking to the offline via eg, sneakernet. (I may be biased, since it's based on my software.)
