I wonder if there's something (or a few possible somethings) that Wikipedia pages whose Talk pages are larger than their main article pages have in common?
I think the ingredients are high polarization, beliefs trumping facts, and at least one person actively caring a *lot* for one pole, and one or more people caring some for the other
case in point: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Linux_kernel
there's this person over there, who denies the presence of binary blobs in Linux despite all the evidence, with an argument that seems sound, but that rests on a false premise: that the presence of blobs in the otherwise-source tree would amount to copyright infringement
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Linux is another interesting example of active defense of a biased neutrality
