I pretty much second what @laurelrusswurm has said.

The other issue is that those geeks-platforms (identica, quitter, friendlica) are primarily about tech-topics that are too boring for me. So I return to twitter b/c it has a much broader variety of topics. 

And no, you cannot bring up different topics on geek-platforms. I tried this for nearly 2 years on identica w/ roughly zero response. These platforms are specialized habitats. Perhaps they even should stay that way.

In fact, my interest differ from yours. I am interested in content, not tech-politics like federation, OpenBlabla etc. I don't see a point in staying on platforms whose topics I find uninteresting & where keeping posting were just for the sake of some tech-political reasons that I don't care much about.
