I heard someone from abbot's side banging on about the Australian budget deficit on the BBC world service this morning. It's tiny relative to gdp compared to the uk's, and our budget deficit isn't a real problem in any case.
A reasonable deficit isn't a problem unless you have borrowed a lot of money in a currency you have no control over (like the Euro...).
