@lnxwalt300 indeed. I use slackware which uses alsa. Zero problems with sound these last few years.

@speeddefrost Slackware and debian have resisted thus far and gentoo forked udev to eudev to avoid systemd. There's hope of an alternative.

@speeddefrost I'm not a fan of systemd. The reason is udev was made part of it, but not all distros are sucked in, BSD won't either.
