I'd given up coffee because it was negatively affecting my health and finally got to the point to where I was day to day indulging my dependency. Getting ActivityPub to CR has lead to me being back on it, but just for a week. I don't think I can meet the deadline otherwise... it's just too crazy.
But, going on coffee without a dependency again... shit, right, this is why you get hooked on the stuff in the first place. When you don't have a dependency, it's a hell of a potent drug.
But... you gotta remember... coffee wants its victim.

“Coffee is powerful, but yerba mate and black tea are ok.”
If you have to cut your coffee intake it's not like mate and tea are going to be good for you, since they have a comparable amount of caffeine.
Unless you need to cut on the coffee only because your stomach doesn't like it: in that case I've found that tea, having less fat, can be easier to digest.
I don't know why, but when I switched off of coffee I still continued to drink a cup of black tea a couple times a day. It hasn't really affected me. My blood pressure remained super low.
Drinking a caffeinated soda or coffee though, blood pressure jumps.
I'm not sure why this is.
I keep a jar of normal coffee and another one of decaffeinated, so I can prepare my moka mixing both types in the needed dose each time, trying to put at least half of if decaffeinated.
Autumn is hard, in any case, and deadlines are hard too #sendingGoodVibrations
