Today I encountered a 1-800 number (one I was actually calling to order something) that is *exactly the same* as a friend's phone number just with "800" instead of the friend's area code.
What are the chances?? I mean, ok, "one in ten million" (!), but maybe lower b/c sparsity?
what's truly amazing is that you knew the friend's phone number to tell. AFAICT most people these days don't even know the phone numbers assigned to their personal tracking devices, any more than the IP addresses assigned to them ;-/
