sounds a bit like someting in a Bill Gates speech I heard back in the early 90s where he said something like "world brain".

I think he was talking about a new network feature they were working on in windows (I don't remember seeing it but I think it might have been something like an app you could use anywhere in the world to buy access to access to some kind of content.. I'm not sure bit I think something like that - it didn't sound anything like the internet I was already using then..

not even like the internet more recently

but speaking of such things noticing some things turning up in javascript lately that remind me a bit of that dotnet stuff on windows machines .. don;t really know much about that stuff bit some of the names of things look a bit similar.

there is so much other weirdness lately

the behaviour of some analytics widgets and the blocking of page loads (often a minute or more) - thats more than just annnoying!

what sort of analytics would be worth so much that its worth annoying users that much?
