@Sander: I definitely don't. And it's a pity so many people in FOSS circles *still* take him as a role model on how to behave. *sigh*

There are other role models on how to behave in FOSS communities (and everywhere).

Thanks @zack, @evan, @cwebber @lhawthorn @nightrose ... and so many :)

Everyone has a bad day at the office occasionally. There would be a real problem if there was a consistent pattern of rude and offensive behaviour. I don't know the bloke so that is for others to decide.

I think, if you were a developer and you'd have to deal with him this is really no fun. But in my opinion it's important to have such contrary characters like R. Stallman (in a different way) or L. Torvalds. This give people a lot of matter to bat around. Maybe this let's pop up new ideas.

Let's put it this way: If it were not for him, I would have missed a lot of interesting Linux related threads, cause the usual suspects didn't care to write about it. And yep, he makes me chuckle now and then.

But this is no reason to take him as an example - for definitely no one. Zack's comment proves, even in FOSS circles there are the same fools, like everywhere else, who can't reflect. That's humans. ;)
