Somehow http://www.overcomingbias.com/2015/06/mass-moralizing.html reminds me of “By installing Java, you will be able to experience the power of Java”
That amazing installation screen text originated in Sun days, but I'm pretty sure I've seen someone upgrading Java on Windows in the past couple years and something like that is still there.
What if McDonald's ads said "By eating McDonald's, you will be able to experience the wonder of McDonald's" or Jeep "By driving Jeep, you will be able to experience the adventure of Jeep" or Dove "By using Dove you will be able to experience the feeling of Dove" or Cheerios "By eating Cheerios you will be able to experience the aura of Cheerios" ... wait that is pretty much what those ads say. Whoever did that text for Sun was a postmodern ad genius!Michael R. Bernstein, Claes Wallin (韋嘉誠), Christopher Allan Webber, Craig Maloney likes this.

Pahlka is showing #Code_For_America video. Marketing videos have *no* place in a keynote speech. Just link people to it for later. !OSCONBrian Dunnette at 2010-11-02T19:54:23+00:00
