Google *is* in the process of breaking App Engine !XMPP compatibility, replacing it with Hangouts http://ur1.ca/dvdsz
-
Yes, and then Google turned !XMPP back on again after fixing some anti-spam settings http://ur1.ca/dw3mo !Lazyweb #answer

Also, @voipms routes through US servers, Unlimitel keeps domestic calls within Canada; may be important for @citizenlab business !VOIP

Anyway, I suspect !Microsoft is mining URLs in Skype to enhance Bing indexing #speculation
-
@accessguyhere Skype claims to be encrypted http://ur1.ca/duvy5 to prevent access to 3rd-parties. But Microsoft is not a 3rd-party
-
@accessguyhere I haven't verified that MS monitors Skype. I use !XMPP with !OTR on a !selfhosted server precisely to avoid such nonsense
-
@malicethewitch I did set UserAgentSwitcher to iOS 4_2_1 but the @NASA TV site still refused to give me HTML5, and said I should upgrade

@marjoleink Try changing a URL like youtube(dot)com/watch?v=cyMHZVT91Dw to youtube(dot)com/embed/cyMHZVT91Dw to eliminate the Flash ads
-
@marjoleink The software habit of releasing broken unworking software to unsuspecting non-tech people is a continuing source of frustration
-
The "open standard" of Flash (used by !fs Gnash) is not compatible with the Flash produced by recent versions of Flash authoring software
-
Those ads are only in the Flash versions of YouTube videos, not the embedded HTML5 versions
-
My browser can do YouTube's HTML5 just fine, but @NASA TV requires Flash for browsers, only has HTML5 for iOS devices http://ur1.ca/m6m
-
@ddevine Seems that way, but that kind of "journalism" sells newspapers. Oh, wait...
