I'm amazed identi.ca is still working. It's nice, in a way. But apparently the same bugs persist. :(Hilton Garcia Fernandes likes this.

I gave up on pump.io.
I closed down my instance. I won't erase my presense on identi.ca but it's very unlikely I'll ever post here again.
Not that I hate it, but I can't take it anymore.

You don't follow anyone outside identi.ca do you? What's the point of a federated social network?
When you change your profile in identi.ca, if you follow me at my pump, my pump needs to change your profile in order to reflect the identi.ca changes, etc...

I'm also having troubles posting in Identi.ca even though I login just fine with my server. grrrr.r...
I can't comment on my own post either with git master or 0.3.0-alpha1

One more thorn, grr... we need decent and motivated JavaScript developers...
Interesting. Reading this made me think I was missing half the thread, and indeed I was... looking at it directly on identi.ca is totally different.

My pump.io instance finally works. Something either in Fedora, Node JS or pump.io must have been fixed.
Now to move to a distributed scenario… I guess I'll lose some more followers but at least now the data is mine :-)

I'm betting most haven't seen the "To" field is empty and are only posting to followers.
Can you please pay attention to that? Otherwise, it's feeling pretty lonely out here on the public timeline :)Hilton Garcia Fernandes, axel668 (inactive), Deceased. Please use 'andyc@pumpdog.me'., Doug Whitfield Sports Account likes this.

This issue is an open bug, in fact. We would like to be able to make our posts public (or whatever, but not just "followers") by default.dper@identi.ca at 2013-07-13T14:46:11Z

Well, after fixing all these weird bugs that people notice, identi.ca has now become an effectively effortless blog tool :)
Why µ-blog or blog when one can µ-blog AND blog on the same platform?

@ruiseabra For now, i can't say i'm pretty satisfied with the current incarnation of identi.ca. I suppose other ideas like groups and the naming of people is still missing. I propose that the new identi.ca is neither µ-blogging, nor blogging strictu senso, but something in between. What about middle-blogging ? Or mid-blogging ? 8-)2013-07-13T08:38:59Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers
Am I the only one looking at two repeated posts when posting?
Only one is effective, as shown on a page reload. Weird.

I also wonder why identi.ca thinks I'm at "Vale do Abelha, Portugal" when I'm way off from it, maybe about 100km. I wonder if it's some outdated geoip db that's screwing it or if my ISP is carelessly shuffling around IP addresses...Hilton Garcia Fernandes likes this.

I'm still very frustrated with the install experience of #pumpio in fedora 19.
I've already found out a few more "undocumented" things one needs to install (and one of them in the last release, xml): rai, xml.
sudo mkdir /opt/pump.io
sudo chown rms:rms /opt/pump.io
cd /opt
git clone https://github.com/e14n/pump.io.git
cd pump.io
npm install
cd node_modules/
npm install xml
npm install rai
cd databank
npm install databank-mongodb
cd ../../
npm test
Currently npm test fails (and hangs with a red cross on the bottom left corner of my terminal window):
[rms@p pump.io]$ npm test
> pump.io@0.3.0-alpha.1 test /opt/pump.io
> vows test/*-test.js
