Unacceptable excuses for bad behaviour in free software development:- Linus and other kernel developers do it.
- You have self-diagnosed as having Asperger's.
- You value code quality over other people's feelings.
- You get angry a lot.
- You think other people are just wrong about everything.
- You thought of a funny insult.
- You're uneasy having people in the project who're unlike you.

They believe bad behaviour is what gets them ahead because that's what got them where they are so far. We are somehow meant to feel sorry for them because they come from broken family backgrounds even though they are spoiled rotten.jrobertson at 2015-10-06T17:16:08Z

They could have gotten where they are so far in spite of (rather than because of) the behaviors. There's always the chance that several people saying "I'm not going to take this anymore" around the same time will shift momentum away from a previously-successful project or organization.lnxwalt@microca.st at 2015-10-07T01:53:35Z

@lnxwalt That's true, the person with the bad behaviour has typically proved they can make the grade, give the company what they want, work hard, demonstrate their talents. At this point they use their value as a kind of credit system to get away with behaviour that others don't seem to get away with.jrobertson at 2015-10-07T05:53:13Z

modes
Entering extreme low-power mode since the sun is forecast to be unavailable until a week from Wednesday.
This means I am offline 90% of the time and bring up the internet connection occasionally to sync.
Or I may end up reading paper books by lantern light or staring at the fire for hours and just thinking.
Old modes, but good ones.

That's what I was thinking! I just let my MetaARPA account lapse, because I don't use it much, but I run TinTin++ in a tmux session, so I can mud from my phone. ^_^Also, I enjoy the interface for bboard on there, and wish there were more command line clients for stuff like pump.io.
I appreciate the tilde.club domain. ^_^

The insecure warnings will be coming from pumps which don't do TLS. Something I don't think should be supported anyway, when you can go out and get free class 1 certificates these days. Especially when WebFinger says you must *only* do requests over TLS

Suprised that recent Kdenlive does not suck. No crashes. Let me fix up out of sync audio/video. Able to do some basic effects, and get down to frame by frame editing when I need to.
.. Still hate video editing though. Something in me loathes ever seeing the same video twice, let alone 20 times. The Anarcat, Mike Linksvayer likes this.
This morning, thought perhaps the horribleness of the clip art on identi.ca front page was intentional -- to prevent new people signing up here and instead get them to use a different pump.io server. But it seems the other public servers have it too.
