Just your ordinary GNU/linux desktop user. I'm also not half bad at Jungle Speed.

Double win: This is a good talk by @vmbrasseur, *and* she put it online in this amazingly awesome format that all presenters should use when publishing their talks (at least when they have full written text available). Thanks, @vmbrasseur!murph likes this.
Home from LibrePlanet

FINALLY made it home from LibrePlanet, after 7 hours of driving... and some engine trouble 20 minutes into the trip to boot. But it was all worth it. I'm a broken record but thanks one last time to the @fsf staff who worked so hard behind the scenes at making it amazing - and to friends new and old!

Let's do a little experiment. It's obviously biased by my relative participation in each, but I'm comparing the reach of twitter, facebook, Diaspora, pump, G+, and GNU Social (plus anything that can talk directly to it...that is not via NavierStokes). Please like this if you see it. Obviously, if you want more people to like it, then you share it, but I'm only going to count likes.Stephen Sekula, David "Judah's Shadow" Blue, Splicer, Sarah Elkins and 26 others likes this.

I got literally zero comments on twitter or G+. There's all sorts of bias in this, but I have more "friends" on facebook by an order of magnitude and significantly more on twitter than the free platforms. So, it seems like people join the proprietary networks and just don't use them very much.GNU Social up to 97: https://nu.federati.net/conversation/510099#notice-1072972Justin Washu O'Brien at 2012-08-18T03:08:00+00:00
