Saturn the Giant
Image Credit: NASAExplanation: On May 25, 1961 U.S. president John Kennedy announced the goal of landing astronauts on the Moon by the end of the decade. By November 9, 1967 this Saturn V rocket was ready for launch and the first full test of its capabilities on the Apollo 4 mission. Its development directed by rocket pioneer Wernher Von Braun, the three stage Saturn V stood over 36 stories tall. It had a cluster of five first stage engines fueled by liquid oxygen and kerosene which together were capable of producing 7.9 million pounds of thrust. Giant Saturn V rockets ultimately hurled nine Apollo missions to the Moon and back again with six landing on the lunar surface. The first landing mission, Apollo 11, achieved Kennedy's goal on July 20, 1969.

The group ride I planned to do Oct 5 got cancelled due to road closures. There is gravel ride on Sept 21 that is free for non-members if any of you would be interested in that. We will need a car to get there though, and I do not have one.

That was actually British troops under General Robert Ross ... but they did do it in retaliation for the burning of York, now Toronto, which was even then the capital of Upper Canada.

That sounds intriguing, but I don't have one ...
ended up going with an apple/sage recipe and substituted one pear for one apple. It turned out amazing, but I think that had more to do with me added extra red wine vinegar than the pear.

It's obviously biased by my relative participation in each, but I'm comparing the reach of twitter, facebook, Diaspora, pump, G+, and GNU Social (plus anything that can talk directly to it...that is not via NavierStokes).Please like this if you see it. Well, they have lost me as a user. The day my IRC client fails to connect to Slack, I will delete my user account. They already had record of all of my interactions using their system. Maybe I won't be able to move any of the groups I am part of away from Slack – But many of us can help create a flood.
