Although looking at their previous choices, a lot of them seem to be just US presidents. Not particularly exciting.

My wife has been pushing and pushing for us to get cable again so, I checked into how much it'd be to add it to the internet bill. She was ready to accept the extra $60 a month we'd end up paying until I brought home a roku hd and plugged it into the bedroom tv. Added a few channels and now she's happy with it and doesn't want the cable tv anymore. #winning

Ok, I made it up.
Also, I actually donated some money to the developers of these program, because they are just greate. I would have been equally happy to pay, instead, to a resonably-priced pay-TV system built around the same concepts. But nonono, TV networks and right owners don't think it will work.

Since I left the Caribbean I haven't watched cable. More than five years now. Strictly internet. Wanted a roku but settled on the chromecast. Pretty much suffices :)

OK, if I were to get a Chromebook I'd definitely want to do a "real" install. I was really close to buying one when I visited Dallas last year (they are much cheaper over in the USA), but I finally decided not to... partly because you can't just install regular Debian like a "normal" machine.
sazius, if someone could figure out how to replace the ChromeOS bootloader with a proper bios, it'd make installing "real" Linux even better. ;)

my upper limit for anything that doesn't come with root access is probably about $50 .. :-)
michaelmd, this one (Acer C7) was $200. Got 2GB RAM, dual core celeron, 11.6 inch display, 320GB hard drive. The newer version of this has a 16GB SSD instead.
