I'm at the GNU 30th celebration today in Cambridge, MA, USA. I first read the GNU Manifesto and the GPL in 1991 and it changed my life. I've always felt like a "late comer" because I wasn't around the Free Software world in the 1980s. Given that I've been involved in 22 of the 30 years, maybe I'm actually an old-timer now. :)

Definite old timer status achieved. I'm just now coming around to GNU after 10-15 years using mix of free and non-free software. I'm really enjoying the switch and development is a lot more fun.

When I was a kid, I could never understand it when my parents would say that time (the years especially) move fast, they always would drag by for me. Now that I've got kids myself, I fully understand them now. ;)

My girl, 5, starts kindergarten in less than a week… not prepared for this…
My son started 7th grade yesterday. He was 2 months old when we moved here!
my girl is about to start kindergarden. time definitely flies, more so once you have kids.
though it could be due to time relativity, being the longer you have been alife, time becomes a smaller percentage of the time you've known so that the perception of that time is that it goes by faster.
Or, kids are just a handful and a load of fun. :-)
